We had the most beautiful buffet lunch at Maxwell's in Bombay, last weekend. It was a catered event for my aunty Elaine's 70th birthday. The location - in the middle of the rolling, green countryside, with the restaurant opening out onto the golf course - makes you feel like you've gotten away from the city. The food was incredibly good. Fresh, perfectly cooked and tasty. We had scotch fillet and gravy, chicken breast, roasted kumara, pumpkin and carrots and a lemon herb couscous salad. The bread rolls were incredibly fresh and the dessert a perfect end to the meal - fruit salad and cream and light slices of cheesecake.

It felt like the food was prepared by someone who really knows how to cook, who cares about the ingredients they're using and the people they're preparing it for. It was delicious, satisfying and we walked away feeling good. Thank you Maxwell's staff! We'll be back.

Our 50th Wedding Anniversary which we held at Maxwell's last Saturday was enjoyed by one and All. Both yourself and Yolla have been the greatest to deal with and you have made the whole day so pleasant and easy. The bar staff and kitchen staff were very professional and went out of their way to help complete our day. The buffet lunch was absolutely beautifully cooked and presented and all of our guests were blown away by the standard. So on behalf of Afra and Myself, family and friends would like to thank you for your efforts.

Kaye I just wanted to extend a further thank you to you and your staff for being so amazing on Sunday and making dads 80th celebration with his family and friends  such a fantastic occasion. The food was outstanding and everyone loved it, the outlook just gorgeous and the golf was hot but everyone had a great time. The kids even managed a couple of holes of foot golf before it got too hot for them. A special thank you to Yolla who was very accommodating and was happy to run around for us with a smile, she is terrific and worth her weight in gold. The bar staff were friendly and went above and beyond. Thank you these memories stay with us for a lifetime and we wish you all the very best for the future.

55 person lunch - November 2019

Just wanted to let you know how much my cousins appreciated  all the good work you put in to make the celebration of Phyl Topp so memorable for them and the friends who attended the celebration.  I loved the photo they took of your property from the main house area - a truly peaceful NZ golf and pastoral scene.   To have everything go so well was gratifying and I know your attention to detail and ensuring that worries were taken off Julie and Hayley's shoulders was a big part of that.

Hope all continues to go well in your life, good luck with your golfing endeavors and Maxwells, and again thanks for all your work and attention to detail.

I would like to let you all know, myself/family & friends had the most wonderful evening on the 12th. You were all accommodating, nothing phased you, just what I needed on the night a chilled atmosphere. You would have been rocking & rolling in the kitchen & you guys were phenomenal, well done. Friends of mine still rave about how it was so relaxed & how they had a great night. You exceeded any expectations & made a special/emotional evening fun-filled. I truly appreciate everything you did prior to & on that day.

Dear Kaye and Yolla and Team

I know you don’t work on Mondays, but while it’s fresh in my mind, we wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to you all for the wonderful evening we enjoyed at your place on Saturday night 😊 The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed catching up on Sunday afternoon to have the leftover brownie and lemon tarts (my mouth is watering just thinking about it!). Thank you too for pinning up the decorations – I realised when we went to take them down that they must’ve already fallen down and you’d pinned them up.

The kids also had a wonderful time with the mini-golf and playing pool etc – the oldest one is now keen to come back and try golf and my son (the 8-year-old) declares he loves mini putt!

We’d totally recommend you to anyone for a function, thank you so much for hosting us.
